NextCell Pharma presents at the Advanced Therapies Europe conference

NextCell Pharma participates in Advanced Therapies Europe, a European conference in Portugal on advanced cell therapies. NextCell's CSO Dr. Lindsay Davies will talk about NextCell's platform technology and the internationally recognized research generated during the development of drug product ProTrans for type 1 diabetes.

NextCell Pharma was invited to present at the Advanced Therapies Europe conference, which will take place 5 – 7 September 2023 in Portugal. NextCell participates through CEO Mathias Svahn and CSO Lindsay Davies who will talk about NextCell's research with the cell therapy drug ProTrans for the treatment of type 1 diabetes.

– For NextCell, the conference is a very good arena to present data from our clinical trials and establish contacts with potential partners and licensees for our drug candidate ProTrans, says NextCells Pharma's CEO Mathias Svahn.

About NextCell Pharma AB
NextCell is a cell therapy company in clinical phase II. The company has developed a proprietary and patented platform technology to produce mesenchymal stromal cells adapted for allogeneic treatment of various autoimmune and immunological diseases. The drug candidate ProTrans is now being tested for the treatment of type-1 diabetes as well as respiratory complications caused by Sars-CoV-2 infection. NextCell also owns 8.5% of FamicordTX, a start-up company in CAR-T and oncology, and 100% of Cellaviva, Scandinavia's largest stem cell bank for family savings of stem cells from umbilical cord blood and umbilical cord tissue with permission from the Swedish Health and Social Care Inspectorate (IVO).

NextCell reports encouraging numerical results in younger children – strategy for adults remains unchanged

NextCell Pharma AB (publ) (“NextCell” or the “Company”) today announces the 12-month results from ProTrans-Young. In the predefined age group of 7–11 years, children treated with NXTCL-T1D had, on average, preserved a greater proportion of their endogenous insulin production after 12 months and experienced a smaller increase in insulin requirements compared with those receiving placebo. The study did not meet its primary efficacy endpoint in the overall study population. A preliminary analysis of 24-month data from the older age group shows no clear treatment effect, although the data have not yet been fully analysed or validated. NextCell’s commercialisation strategy for adults remains unchanged, while the Company intends to refine its treatment strategy for children and adolescents, focusing on treatment timing and the number of administrations. Further analyses are also planned to investigate how age and individual disease progression may influence treatment response.

NextCell provides update on timing of ProTrans-Young results

NextCell Pharma AB (publ) (“NextCell” or the “Company”) announces that topline results from the ProTrans-Young clinical trial have not yet been reported to the company. The extended timeline is due to the final administrative processing and sign-off of study data taking longer than planned and is not related to the outcome of the study. The data are now being handled by statisticians at Uppsala Clinical Research Center (UCR).
